First, I would like to point out that within a 25 miles radius, there are 26 Starbucks Coffee shops. I though it was just a joke but seriously, I just checked. That means if you want to go to Starbucks down here and miss one, don't worry. Just go another 5,280 ft and you'll be fine. Useful knowledge for an intern who might be making a coffee run or two in the near future.
Another thing it is always busy. Even on a Monday afternoon when normal people are working. I am convinced that Californians have a very relaxed work schedule. Right now, I am sitting across from a man w/ big pectorals and tattoos, behind a group of Polynesian rockers deep in debate about their band (Yes, I am eavesdropping. What?? They're talking loud in a small space), beside students studying, and a European family having a Starbucks picnic, complete w/ fruit, pastries, paninis and lots of coffee (I would eavesdrop on them too, but they're speaking a foreign language). Very diverse. All different races and walks of life.
And most everyone orders hot coffee. In +100 degree weather. I guess it just doesn't affect them. I on the other hand had to order my Pumpkin Spice Latte in frappachino form cause I couldn't take the heat. Now, it doesn't taste the same.
And in case you're wondering Christy: No, the barista is not named Taylor and is definitely not cute. In fact, I think his hair is longer than mine.
Darn it! You'll just have to try the next Starbucks down the line. Your Taylor is out there! ;)
