1) Athletes. They're pretty cool. (See #3)
2) Being able to run outside in (almost) November as well as wear summer and fall clothes in combination. Yes, I miss the autumn leaves and hot apple cider drinking, but it is pretty nice to be able to wear sandles and scarves at the same time. Then changing into boots and a tank top.
3) There's always stuff to do. In the words of a Paralympian/rapper/general knowledge expert, "People are all about their business. It's like the land of golden opportunity." (Translation: California is very fun and anything is possible)
4) Waking up to THIS.

(This photo was actually taken during the week of rain San Deigo recieves once a year, but behind those clouds are even higher mountains. Beautiful.)
5) Taco Tuesday is my favorite day of the week. It should become a national holiday.
6) My boss is still an amazing person. Makes my job fun and great learning experience; Pushing me to step outside my comfort zones, but not overwhelming me.
7) Going to an evening service. Church starts at 7 p.m., but doesn't let out until 9 p.m. It's a great way to finish off my Sunday. Very relaxing and I love that the last thing I do is spend time with God.
8) Trader Joe's. It's becoming an obsession.
9) Arielle Carter a.k.a. THE ROOMMATE WHO MAKE ME LISTEN TO CHILDREN OF THE CORN SOUNDTRACK AND TRIES TO GET ME INTO HAUNTED HOUSES but then saves me from lizards.
10) Being able to do something completely different from my normal lifestyle. It's been challenging, but I wouldn't replace it if I could.
Leiza, I know you are learning and growing so much! And I am still so happy you have a great boss and that you're in such a beautiful place having such a rewarding experience. I know you feel lonely sometimes, but enjoy all the moments you have left, and you'll be back with us before you know it!
ReplyDeleteAnd I am glad that Arielle protects you from lizards. Is she also useful against raccoons?
