I will admit, during breakfast, I love eating by myself. In fact, if you come and try to talk to me before I have food in my system, I will eat your head instead. Just wait until after 9 a.m. Then I'm good.
But Thanksgiving was made to be spent with friends and family. That's how the Pilgrims did it. Grab some Indians, corn and some more Pilgrims and you've got yourself a party!! But there was no party today at the OTC. The Rugby men left this morning, leaving me and Czech Canoe team on campus. They don't celebrate Thanksgiving.
The food was still delicious. Normal Thanksgiving chow. But it was missing the warmth of family. So I sat in front of the TV, watching Miracle of 34th Street. I almost cried twice. The little Polish girl scene was getting to me.
In order to life my spirits from this depressive state, I decided to decorate my office. Some might think it's too early, well BOO YOU. It's never to early to celebrate Christmas. Seriously, we should be celebrating Jesus every day of the year, not just in December. So I love Christmas and decided to transform my desk and surrounding area to appreciate the season.
So here's the before picture . . .
And here it is at the end of Phase I:
Check back tomorrow for the updated Phase II of the project in which I will actually try to give thanks and not eat meals by myself.
