Experimentation

I have developed an obsession w/ Trader Joe's. I don't know why or how I let it spiral out of control, but every Sunday after church, I would pass by and had to go exploring. It's not your normal supermarket or grocery store. There's lot of unique foods, drinks, and recipes to look at. And try.

Each week, to expand my palete and furthur step outside my comfort zone, I would buy something new I hadn't tried before. Now, I was limited w/ what I could by due to the lack of stoving and proper baking equipment, but that didn't stop me. I started off w/ some easy stuff (dried blueberries and unsweetened mangos) and increased (baked snap peas and green beans) and progressed (organic herb goat cheeze and coucous).

There was some stuff I liked and some things I didn't. At least now I know that aloe pulp juice is too sweet and pulpy. Vanilla hemp milk was another bad choice. It was like drinking sand. Gritty and not thirst quenching at all.

And it actually has increased my picky eating. Now I like tomatoes, avocado, pomegranate, rice milk, plantines, and more.

One of my favorite finds were these baby kiwis. They are about the size of grapes, but when bitten into, revealed their slightly sour kiwi goodness. Yum. Also, my roommate and I were both fans of the dark chocolate edamame. But honestly, dark chocolate can make just about anything taste delicious.
